Shelly Jean John Esq.
Family Law Attorney | Mediator | Advocate for Real Change
Helping and empowering others has always been in my DNA. After earning degrees in Communications and Political Science, I felt a deep pull toward the law — a field where I could turn empathy into action. Since graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1998, I’ve dedicated my life to doing just that.
This isn’t just a profession — it’s my purpose.
For over 20 years, I’ve guided individuals and families through the most personal and often painful chapters of their lives—divorce, custody, co-parenting, and restructuring. I founded Family Law Revolution to do more than just practice law. I wanted to change how people experience it.
I believe in empowering clients with compassion, clarity, and customized legal support. Since opening my firm in 2000, I’ve helped thousands of clients throughout Southern California resolve their legal matters with integrity—whether through mediation, collaborative approaches, or strategic litigation when needed.
As a trained mediator and graduate of Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice Training through SCPG, I bring a holistic, people-first approach to every case. I understand that not every family law issue needs to become a courtroom battle. Whether you need full legal representation, coaching, or just a Lawyer for a Day, I tailor my services to fit your unique needs and goals.
Clients come to me for real solutions, not just legal documents. I work hard to resolve conflict in a way that honors your values and sets you and your family up for a better future. And when court is necessary, I fight smart—balancing strategy with empathy every step of the way.
